In My BackYard (or IMBY) began in May 2005 as a practical idea of what ordinary people can do to improve their environment.

Growing vegetables in your backyard must be one of the few actions that is accessible to all people regardless of income, is positively beneficial for the environment, is healthy for the individual, and does not cause controversy.

None of the ideas or projects are owned by IMBY.  They are all available to be shared and used.  The only exception are a couple of images that are property of Regional Publishers Bowral and used with their kind permission.  They are clearly marked.

However, like all gardeners,  IMBY would prefer you to ask for permission to use ideas rather than take them.  If you want to take a cutting, I'll be honoured and delighted.  If you want to rip up my whole garden I won't be too happy!

IMBY is based in the Southern Highlands of New South Wales, Australia.

Andy Carnahan is the custodian of the In My BackYard concept.  In the real world, his own backyard is a suburban backyard in Bowral.  This yard has a vegetable patch and some chooks.

You can contact IMBY or Andy via email (andy@imby.org.au)  or mail.
